Call for Board Member Nominees: NIOSH Board of Scientific Counselors

The NIOSH Board of Scientific Counselors is seeking nominations for new members to serve beginning in 2024. The Board is composed of 15 experts who meet twice a year to provide advice to the NIOSH Director on NIOSH’s occupational safety and health research and prevention programs. The NIOSH BSC typically meets two times each year, one day in the spring (April/May) and one in the fall (October). The meetings have been on Zoom the past three years, and we anticipate having hybrid virtual/in-person meetings at the NIOSH offices in Washington, D.C. moving forward. Members are paid a small stipend of $250 per meeting. Members who travel are reimbursed for their travel expenses and receive a per diem for food and other incidental expenses. Board members are typically appointed for a term of 3-4 years.  

NIOSH welcomes nominees from diverse backgrounds and with expertise in a variety of disciplines related to occupational safety and health. Nominations are due by April 19, 2023 to nioshdocket@cdc.gov. For more information and what to include in a nomination package please see the full announcement.
