Congratulations to the New Class of HFES Science Policy Fellows!

HFES Government Relations Committee Chair, Mica Endsley, is pleased to announce our new class of HFES Science Policy Fellows:

  • Tim Arnold, Veterans Health Administration
  • Emily Howard, The Boeing Company
  • Ram Maikala, National Safety Council
  • Sara Riggs, University of Virginia
  • Katie Tippey, Willow Tree Apps

The HFES Science Policy Fellowship (SPF) program provides a valuable opportunity for HFES members to learn how to successfully advocate for human factors and ergonomics on the national stage. Science Policy Fellows will receive extensive training in public affairs, advocacy, and outreach. They will participate in an annual spring Capitol Hill Day in Washington, DC, including a "Hill visit" training session and a policy-related speaker before the visit day. Science Policy Fellows will be invited to attend monthly teleconferences with the HFES Government Relations Committee to review ongoing legislative and related activities and opportunities for HFES to engage in national policy decisions.

Congratulations to all!
