Global Accessibility Awareness Day

Thursday, May 19, marks the eleventh Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD). GAAD focuses on increasing awareness to ensure equitable digital access and inclusion for people across the spectrum of abilities/disabilities.

Human Factors and Ergonomics (HF/E) principles improve the design of systems and products with which humans interact.  This includes digital products!

Here are some resources to aid all of us to take meaningful steps to improve digital access and inclusion.

Also, in line with GAAD, we would like to highlight the Disability/Chronic Illness (DCI) Affinity group of HFES. In March, DCI held a webinar with Emily A. Keatley to discuss the Americans with Disabilities Act. Please consider joining the DCI affinity group – advocates and allies are also welcome!
