HFES Emerging Leaders Program

The Executive Council announces the continuation of the Emerging Leaders program – an educational and mentoring opportunity where HFES members participate in the Executive Council meeting at the annual meeting.

The next opportunity is during the HFES 66th International Annual Meeting in Atlanta, GA, USA. This program is part of an effort led by the HFES Leadership Development Committee to promote the professional development of potential leaders in HFES. This experience is intended to support individuals in their efforts to become leaders within their profession and, more specifically, to foster future leaders in HFES. This opportunity will develop connections with members of the Executive Council and other leaders. Selected attendees will have the opportunity to be involved in all discussions during the Executive Council, provide feedback, and be paired with a mentor throughout the meeting.

Selected mentees will arrive at the annual meeting on Friday, October 7 to attend an orientation/discussion that evening followed by the Executive Council meeting on Saturday and Sunday (October 8 & 9). HFES covers the expenses for two nights' lodging and food and beverage on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Transportation expenses are the responsibility of the selected individual.

Criteria:

Those interested in this opportunity must be in good standing as a Student Affiliate, Early-Career Professional, or Full HFES member (for not more than six years) to be considered. Applications submitted on behalf of others with their consent are also accepted. Each nomination should be sent by email and include a short paragraph on why the nominee is a good candidate for this program. Two nights' room and tax will be covered by HFES. Transportation and meeting registration are not included. Applications will be reviewed by the Leadership Development Committee.
