HFES Congratulates Dr. Nancy Black

Nancy Black, Ph.D., P.Eng., CCPE, was elected by the Council of the International Ergonomics Association (IEA) in August 2024 as Vice-President Secretary General for the 2024-2027 term. Prior to this role, she was Chair of the IEA’s Science Technology and Practice standing committee (2021-2024) and was co-chair of the Technical Program of the IEA’s 2021 Triennial World Congress hosted by Canada’s Association of Canadian Ergonomists.
Nancy is Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department of Université de Moncton. She holds professional designations as a Professional Engineer and Canadian Certified Professional Ergonomist (CCPE). Her primary areas of work include workplace design and workplace tool design to limit musculoskeletal disorder risk.
Nancy has been a member of HFES since 1993 and was HFES Liaison for the National Science Council’s MSD Solutions Lab from 2023-2024. We thank her for her service.
