Learn about the Governance of HFES and Attend the HFES Executive Council Mid-Year Meeting
Posted January 02, 2020
As part of their on-going efforts to promote leadership among HFES members, the HFES Leadership Development Committee continues to endorse and encourage the Emerging Leaders Program. As part of this professional development opportunity, selected individuals will interact with Executive Council members at their business meetings during the mid-year and annual meetings. This program provides valuable insights into the vision, structure, and formal workings of the Society. This special opportunity will provide connections with members of the Executive Council and other HF/E leaders. Selected attendees will have the opportunity to be involved in all discussions, provide feedback, and will be mentored throughout the meeting by Executive Council members.
The next opportunity to participate is at the mid-year Executive Council meeting held immediately prior to the 2020 Health Care Symposium in Toronto, Canada on March 7 & 8. The selected mentees will arrive on Friday (March 6) for an orientation that evening and then will attend the Executive Council meetings on Saturday and Sunday (March 7 and 8). HFES has committed to reimbursing the selected individuals for their expenses associated with airfare, hotel, and meals on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Expenses associated with participation in the Health Care Symposium are not covered and applicable registration fees would need to be remitted should the selected individuals wish to attend the symposium.
Criteria: Emerging leaders interested in this opportunity must be in good standing as a student, transitional, or full HFES member (for less than five years) to quality and submit self-nominations. Nomination submissions on behalf of others are also accepted with the individual's knowledge. Each nomination should be entered into the submission site by January 24.
Nominations will be reviewed by the Leadership Development Committee who will select three members to invite to the Executive Council meeting. Please submit nominations by Friday, January 24, 2020 via this link.
Thank you for considering this opportunity!
