Is your ID a "Real ID"

The US Department of Homeland Security established new “Real ID” minimum security standards for driver’s licenses and state identity cards used for boarding domestic flights in the US that took effect May 7.  Residents of certain states may need additional identification documents to clear security. Click here for more information and to see whether identification issued by your state complies with new security standards. In advance of your departure for ASPIRE we strongly suggest contacting your carrier to confirm your identification documents will be valid for travel.

Public transportation such as the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) “L” trains and Metra offer up easy and economical travel. The CTA Blue Line station is located right within the airport offering easy access for passengers.

A number of airport shuttles and regional buses service O’Hare, offering transportation for passengers in the city. Taxi and rideshare companies are all accessible to passengers that are both coming and going. Average taxi fare from O’Hare to downtown Chicago is $50 Midway International Airport (13 miles to Hyatt Regency Chicago).

Train

Train and Bus

The CTA operates Chicago’s eight ‘L’ train lines and 129 bus routes. Two train lines operate 24/7: the Blue Line, which connects O’Hare International Airport and downtown, and the Red Line, with service between the North and South Sides via downtown. Convenient CTA bus routes travel throughout the city, with stops every few blocks. Several lines offer Night Owl service, running until 2 a.m. or later. Pay cash for single trip bus rides or purchase a reloadable Ventra Transit Card or Unlimited Ride Pass for both travel by ‘L’ train and bus. Metra

The high-speed Metra commuter rail train connects outlying suburbs to downtown Chicago. Find fares and route maps. Tickets can be purchased before boarding via the Ventra app. Riders who are new to the Metra system can view the New Riders Guide for helpful information.
