Local Chapters

The Society's local chapters are formed by HFES members in geographic locations throughout the United States, as well as in Europe, China and the Middle East. Chapters provide forums for members to exchange information and ideas concerning HF/E issues. HFES local chapters hold meetings, publish newsletters, sponsor events and special activities, and provide annual reports and business meetings to their members, as well as to the Society at-large.

A local chapter is defined as a group of individuals employed or otherwise interested in human factors/ergonomics who wish to organize for professional purposes within a defined geographic area. It is a requirement that all Full members of a local chapter are also Full members of HFES.
